Chandigarh: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann skipped event to formally welcome President Draupadi Murmu on her arrival here on Tuesday. The President arrived at the Technical Airport in Chandigarh after a program organized in Kurukshetra district of Haryana.
Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit welcomed her with a bouquet of flowers, but CM Punjab Bhagwant Mann was absent from here too.
Even before the President reached Chandigarh, CM Punjab Bhagwant Mann left there to campaign for the Gujarat Assembly elections. But on behalf of the Punjab government, cabinet minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer received the President. Minister Meet Hayer is accompanied by two other ministers of the Punjab government.
On Air Force Day, an air show was held at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. It was attended by President Draupadi Murmu, but CM Punjab Bhagwant Mann skipped it too during President’s maiden visit in Chandigarh.
During that time, Punjab Governor BL Purohit also attacked CM Mann for skipping the event.
