Punjab CM sacks AIG Rajjit Singh, orders Vigilance to probe property

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has dismissed Punjab Police AIG Rajjit Singh from service. He said that no one involved in drug trafficking will be spared. The Chief Minister has ordered the Vigilance to probe the former officer’s assets.

After seeing the report of the sealed envelopes, Rajjit Singh PPS is immediately dismissed from the job due to being named in a drug smuggling case. The vigilance has also been asked to probe the assets earned from chitte smuggling.

In 2017, a special task force was formed by the then Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh under the leadership of ADGP Harpreet Sidhu to check drug trafficking, which pointed fingers at the role of then AIG Rajjit Singh and registered a case against Inspector Inderjit Singh.
