Chandigarh: The Congress will hold a protest on Wednesday against the Punjab government’s decision not to fulfill several promises made to Punjabis during the budget for the financial year 2023-24.

Led by state president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the entire leadership and women activists will join the protest.
This protest of Punjab Congress will start from Chandigarh Congress Committee office at 10 am today. The AAP government had promised to give Rs 1,000 to every woman and woman above 18 years of age in Punjab during the assembly election campaign, but even after 365 days, this promise has not been fulfilled.
Warring said that in order to get the rights of the sisters, the Punjab Congress would gherao the Assembly and demand that the Mann government fulfill the promise made to the people.
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh has said that the AAP government had also promised a pension of Rs 2500. The state government should also complete this. At the same time, he talked about struggling with other matters, including the disconnection of blue card of poor people.
The Punjab Congress is also going to question the working of AAP government on the issue of absconding pro-Khalistan fugitive Amritpal Singh. Amritpal Singh has managed to escape despite heavy police deployment and internet service being shut down.
For this reason, the Punjab Congress can bring the action of the Mann government into question. In the case of Amritpal Singh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has also made strong comments.
