Chandigarh: Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav today gave 72 hours to the people to remove any social media post promoting gun culture and violence in the state.

He said that no FIR will be lodged in connection with such posts for 72 hours, after which a drive will be launched to remove such posts and a charge sheet will be registered against the offenders.

The Amritsar Rural police had registered a case against four persons, including a 10-year-old boy and his father, on charges of promoting gun culture but it was later quashed as it was a toy gun. The case was registered at Kathunangal police station on Wednesday.
