Chandigarh: Recently, the Punjab government has banned firing and display of weapons during marriage ceremonies. But it seems even Punjab Police personnel themselves are not serious towards this order.
In a similar instance, a case has come to light from Amritsar, where a constable posted at police station Kathu Nangal police station in Amritsar displayed weapons and opened fire during a marriage ceremony.
He himself opened celebrity fires at his own wedding. The accused policeman has been identified as Diljot Singh, a resident of Bhangali Kalan. After the video went viral, the Majitha police of Amritsar registered a case against the groom policeman and a search is on for the accused.
It is pertinent to mention here that during his own wedding ceremony, the policeman, holding a pistol in both hands, opened fire in the air, which is in violation of the strict instructions of the Punjab government recently.
In the past, the government had banned firing and display of weapons at the wedding ceremony, despite this, people are yet not complying to the orders.
