Chandigarh: A day after registering case under NDPS act against former SAD minister Bikram Majithia, Punjab Police have asked the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to issue a lookout notice against Majithia.
The lookout notice would prevent Majithia from fleeing abroad, police said.
Majithia has been booked under the NDPS Act, on the basis of a 2018 status report of a probe into the drug racket in the state, which has triggered allegations of “political vendetta” from his party.
Majithia (46) is the brother-in-law of Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and brother of former Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, however, denied all charges against him.
Akali Dal termed it a political vendetta to denigrate image of Akali Dal party ahead of polls.
