Punjabi girl working at gas station shot dead in Canada’s Brampton

Brampton: A 21-year-old Sikh girl has been shot dead in Brampton, Canada. Peel Regional Police said the incident took place on December 3 at around 11:45 p.m. on Creditview Road and Petro-Canada on Britannia Road West.

The victim has been identified as Pawanpreet Kaur, an employee at the gas station, police said.

She was shot and died on the spot despite being given medical help. The police are identifying the suspected attacker, who was wearing dark-coloured clothes and left on foot after the shooting. According to police, no weapons were recovered from the spot.

The incident comes days after 18-year-old Indian-origin Sikh youth Mehakpreet Sethi was stabbed to death in the parking lot of a high school in Surrey.
