Ottawa: Ripudaman Singh Malik, Canada’s prominent Sikh leader and a suspect about 1985 Air India bombing case, was shot dead at 8200 Avenue on 128 Street in Vancouver, British Columbia at 9:15 am (Canada time) in Surrey this morning.
Once a supporter of separatist Khalistan movement, Singh was acquitted in Air India mass murder plot in 2005 due to lack of evidence against him. He recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his pro Sikhs policies.
Meanwhile, police said that it was a target killing and deceased succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
