Dubai: Team India is going to compete with Hong Kong in the Asia Cup being played in the UAE. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is set to return to Team India for this match to be played on Wednesday. Dinesh Karthik, however, may have to sit out of the playing 11.

Apart from this, there is no possibility of any other change in the team.

In the match played against Pakistan, captain Rohit Sharma took a shocking decision. Rohit Sharma replaced Rishabh Pant in the team with Dinesh Karthik. But due to Dinesh Karthik’s play, the balance of India’s batting lineup deteriorated.

In the event of Rishabh Pant not playing, India did not have a single left-hander batsman in the top 6. However, Team India changed its strategy and Ravindra Jadeja was sent to bat at number four due to being a left-hander. But Team India will not want to repeat the mistake of keeping Pant out again.

Dinesh Karthik is being given a place in Team India as a finisher. In the match played against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya managed to play the role of finisher. Given Hardik Pandya’s form, Team India can take the risk of keeping Dinesh Karthik out.
