Karachi: The assembly of Pakistan’s Punjab province became an arena of war on Saturday after leaders of Imran Khan’s party PTI attacked the deputy speaker.
Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Majri sustained injuries in the attack by PTI leaders. At the moment, not much is known about the injuries he suffered. It is being told that the PTI MLAs slapped the deputy speaker and pulled his hair. The speaker has been safely removed.
When deputy speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari came to preside over the House to elect a new Chief Minister of Punjab, he was assaulted by MLAs of Imran Khan’s party PTI, who reportedly threw lotas at him. Security guards were also present during this time. The session of the Punjab Assembly was scheduled to begin at 11.30 am but was adjourned due to the absence of PTI members.
