Kiev: Russia launched fierce attacks early this morning on two residential buildings in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
Kiev Mayor Vitaly Kalischko said four people have been hospitalised. A seven-year-old girl has also been pulled out from the debris. The Russian army is consolidating its position on other areas in the eastern region.
Ukrainian LAWMAKER Olexi Goncharenko wrote on the Telegram app that according to preliminary information, 14 missiles have been fired in Kiev. Russia has carried out such a large-scale air strikes on Kiev today since June 5. It appears to have been symbolically attacked ahead of this week’s NATO summit in Madrid, Clischko told reporters.
Two other explosions were heard in Kiev, but possible loss of life and property was not immediately known. Meanwhile, the Russian army has scrambled for complete occupation of the eastern Luhansk region. Luhansk Governor Serhi Haidai said Russia’s air strikes in the city of Lisichansk had destroyed TV towers and bridges. Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said Moscow-backed separatist forces have now taken control of Civiordonetsk.
