Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt), headed by Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, released its first list of 12 candidates for Punjab assembly poll on Friday.
The party is contesting the elections as an alliance with BJP and Punjab Lok Congress led by Amarinder Singh, which would contest on 38 seats. SAD (Sanyukt) will contest on 13 seats
Party announced candidature of former LokSabha member Paramjit Kaur Gulshan from Jaitu, former Kabaddi player Soma Singh Gharachon from Dirba, Harpreet Singh Garcha from Sahnewal, Sant Sukhwinder Singh Tibba from Mehal Kalan, Jagtar Singh Rajeana from Bagha Purana and Sanmukh Singh Mokha from Sunam.In Doaba region’s Phillaur assembly segment, the SAD (Sanyukt) has decided to give ticket to the family of former cabinet minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur and his is inclined to field his son Damanveer Singh from Phillaur.
