Jalandhar: Several followers of Dera Murad Shah and Laddi Sain on Sunday staged a dharna in front of the office of sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) and blocked traffic on the Nakodar- Nurmahal road protesting against Satkar committee members.
Addressing a protest rally speakers said that a criminal case should be registered against Paramjit Singh Akali, Bibi Daler Kaur and others who used derogatory language against Sain Laddi Shah during protests against Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan.
Nakodar city police have booked Maan on a complaint filed by Paramjit Singh Akali under Section 295-A of IPC for “hurting religious sentiments of Sikh community”.
Punjabi singer Maan had landed himself in a controversy after his video gone viral wherein he was heard saying that the chief of a dera and Nakodar Sain Laddi Shah was from the descendants of the third Sikh guru, Guru Amar Dass.
Protesters said that they have lodged a complaint against culprits with the police demanding registration of a case but no action has been taken and threatened to intensify the stir.
