Seeks report from states on crop loss due to unseasonal rains: Agriculture Minister Tomar

New Delhi: Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today said unseasonal rains have damaged crops and the government is awaiting information from states to assess the damage.

“Definitely, crops have been damaged due to unseasonal rains,” Tomar told reporters. The survey is underway and we are awaiting reports from the states to assess the damage.

More funds will be released from the National Disaster Relief Fund after due process of assessment.

He said the minimum support price (MSP) for rabi crops would be announced soon.
