Seven MBBS students, including BJP MLA`s son, killed in car mishap in Maharashtra`s Wardha; PM Modi condoles

Wardha: In a tragic mishap, seven MBBS students, including son of a MLA, were killed in Wardha district of Maharashtra in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to the information, the accident occurred about 1.30 AM near Selsura village when the car they were travelling in fell off a bridge, in Wardha district, 77 km away from Nagpur, in east Maharashtra.

Among deceased Avishkar Rahangdale, was the son of Tirora BJP MLA Vijay Rahangdale. He was a first-year MBBS student of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Sawangi (Meghe) in Wardha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the news sand tweeted, “Pained by the loss of lives due to an accident near Selsura in Maharashtra. In this hour of sadness, my thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those injured are able to recover soon,” he added.

In another tweet, the PM’s Office announced that a sum of Rs 2 lakh each would be paid as compensation to the families of the youths killed in the accident.
