Shimla: Four years after the biggest water crisis of 2018, residents of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, are facing this difficulty once again.

The capital has been reeling under acute water shortage for over 15 days now.

Low rainfall, heavy tourist inflow and leakage of pipes in the water distribution network are being blamed.

The Shimla Municipal Corporation (MC) and the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) claimed that the problem is severe due to leakage of pipes.

Meanwhile, cities, including Tutu and Kaithu, were reportedly getting water supply once in three-four days.

It has now triggered a political row in the state as the Congress and CPM were blaming each other for the crisis.
