Chandigarh: Siddharth Chattopadhyaya has been appointed as officiating the DGP of Punjab on Thursday late evening.
This decision has been taken as PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu was unhappy over incumbent DGP Iqbal Preet Singh’s appointment, a senior Congress leader said on the request of anonymity. Although, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, along with deputy CM-cum-Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa, had rallied behind Officiating DGP Sahota.
Chattopadhyaya is going to retire on March 31, 2022.
