Amritsar: Reiterating his stand, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu said that he his a man of his word, he would contest only from Amritsar.
“I did not shift to another constituency when Jaitley was fielded from Amritsar in 2014. I declined a Rajya Sabha seat,” he said.
Ducking question on aspiring to be party’s CM face in upcoming elections, he said that
it is for the party high command to decide.
He, however, praised working style of CM Charanjit Singh Channi and said his mission for revival of Punjab has begun showing results on the ground with the Channi led government initiating action on my 13-point agenda.
He said that reining in the transport mafia, initiation of the process to renegotiate power purchase agreements with private plants and controlling sand prices are our first steps towards putting Punjab back on the rails,” he said.
