Six IAF officers charged with murder after trainee cadet found hanging

Bengaluru: A case of murder has been registered against six Indian Air Force (IAF) officers following the death of a trainee cadet here. A court of inquiry has also been ordered against the officials.

According to the police, Ankit Jha (27) was found hanging in a room of the Air Force Technical College (AFTC).

Police suspect that the death took place four to five days ago. On the complaint of the deceased’s brother Aman Jha, the police have registered a case against six officials. Aman, in his complaint, has alleged that an attempt was made to tamper with the evidence as the persons belonging to the college had come to the police station on Saturday with the same evidence that he was looking for.

The brother of the deceased wondered how the persons associated with AFTC had already come to know that he (Aman) had come to the police station.

They then reached the police station separately. A senior police officer said the cause of death was being investigated. The officials against whom the complaint has been lodged are yet to be arrested, police said.
