Hague: The death toll in a truck accident in a village in Rotterdam, Netherlands, rose to six on Sunday after a truck skidded off a dam and collided with a community barbecue. According to the police, seven people injured in the accident are admitted to the hospital, out of which the condition of one is critical.
According to the police, the deceased included three men and three women, aged between 28 and 75 years. Police spokesman Mirjam Boers said the 46-year-old truck driver was originally from Spain.
According to the police, the accident took place on Saturday evening in the village of New-Bijerland. The identity of the truck driver has not been disclosed under the Netherlands’ privacy law.
Boers said the driver was not drunk at the time of the accident. The speeding truck skidded off the embankment and crashed into a crowd of people in the village.
