Ottawa: Heavy snowfall in many parts of Canada has badly affected flights. In many parts of Ontario, there are reports of snow up to 6-8 inches. Vancouver airport, which handles about 450 flights every day, is almost closed. Only a few small aircraft are flying. Most of the landing flights have been stopped at operational locations.
But the planes that had already taken off before are being diverted to nearby, but safe airports. The worst-case scenario is for passengers on flights that had taken off from China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea or Singapore and crossed the Pacific Ocean in 10-12 hours over Canada. Thousands of passengers taking a flight from Vancouver are stranded there and their essential needs have been met due to the rush.
According to airport officials, all the machines have been pressed into service to clean the runway, but the snow along with it is hampering the cleaning. There is also a shortage of snow-melting salt.
According to officials, it will take several more hours to restore normalcy. Officials believe that this is a record of such a condition of this airport due to snowfall.
The administration continues to strive to make most of British Columbia’s main roads motorable. People are forced to stay indoors. The work done without a roof has come to a standstill.
