Sonia Gandhi asks 5 state presidents to step down

New Delhi: Cracking the whip on state presidents including Navjot Singh Sidhu where Congress lost elections, Congress president Sonia Gandhi asked for their resignation to enable reorganisation of the party.

Congress suffered debacle in Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa states in recently held assembly election.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Sidhu, Ganesh Godiyal (Uttarakhand), Girish Chodankar (Goa), Ajay Kumar Lallu (UP) and Nameirakpam Loken Singh (Manipur) will tender the resignation.
