Special drunken driving Nakas, Lady Police squad on new year eve in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: The New Year is celebrated at various places in the city and p eople from neighboring states also come to Chandigarh ‘The City Beautiful’ to celebrate New Year. Keeping in view the prevailing security scenario and enthusiasm of people regarding celebration of New Year in the city, the proper law & order, security and traffic arrangements have been made by the Chandigarh Police.

Therefore, in this view, Chandigarh Police has deployed adequate force from Police Stations, Security, intelligence and Traffic in the city by deploying force of 1800 (approximately) which includes 10 GOs and 16 SHO, 24 Inspectors and 1672 NGOs/ORs. All Hotels, Clubs, Restaurants, Community Centers, Markets, prominent places will be covered by deployment of maximum police force including lady police officials.

A special ‘Lady Police Squad’ has been formed under the supervision of 4 inspectors to assist the women/girls in the city. Further, 8 PCR Vehicles with lady police officials will be deployed at 8 prominent places in the city to provide pick and drop facility to women and all possible help to them in case of need.

In addition to above, 43 internal Naka’s will be deployed and 7 main outer barriers will be strengthened to keep check on incoming and outgoing of vehicles in the city. Special Drunken Driving Naka’s on the eve of New Year 2022 will be set at different points in the City. Patrolling of PCR Vehicles will be intensified in the city especially around the places of function. Special Anti-Sabotage Check is being carried out at important places of function from anti explosive / sabotage point of view.
