STF arrests sub-inspector for accepting Rs 10 lakh bribe from drug smuggler in Amritsar

New Delhi: The Punjab Police has arrested the sub-inspector for accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a drug smuggler as part of a crackdown on black sheep in the police department.

The action was taken by the Special Task Force. The arrested sub inspector has been identified as Narendra Singh. He was posted as additional SHO in Police Station Lopoke. The STF has also recovered the alleged bribe amount.

The name of this sub inspector had cropped up after the police arrested drug smuggler Guravtar Singh and his accomplice along with kg of heroin. After questioning them, another smuggler Balvinder Singh Billa was also nabbed.
