Chandigarh: The local Police on Thursday has detained SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and other leaders as they attempted to gherao the Punjab Governor’s house.
The SAD leaders were protesting against the Centre’s orders to extend the jurisdiction of BSF in Punjab.
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Cong have colluded with centre & sold off interests of Pb but SAD will continue to fight for federal rights of State. This is 2nd time centre has impinged upon our rights- 1st by farm laws & now by taking control of policing of half of Pb, Badal said adding that Courted arrest alongwith party leadership after a prolonged sit-in close to barricaded Governor House in solidarity with Punjabis who are affronted at meek surrender of CM in front of centre which has extended central control over law &order across a vast swathe of Punjab.
