New Delhi: India’s star batsman Suresh Raina’s chances of returning to the Indian Premier League are over. Suresh Raina has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on Tuesday.
According to the report, Suresh Raina will participate in the next season of the T20 league of South Africa, UAE and Sri Lanka.
Actually, Suresh Raina was not bought by any team for the IPL this year. Since Suresh Raina had said goodbye to international cricket in 2020, the possibility of his return to the IPL was almost over. Now Suresh Raina has said goodbye to domestic cricket and opened the doors of playing in foreign leagues for himself.
The BCCI had recently made it clear that no player with a contract with it can participate in any foreign league. If Suresh Raina had participated in foreign T20 leagues without retiring from domestic cricket, the BCCI could have taken action against him.
Raina is known as one of the best players in the world in the T20 format. Suresh Raina has also been called Mr. IPL. Suresh Raina scored 5528 runs in 205 matches in the IPL at an average of 32.5 and a strike rate of around 137. Suresh Raina played a key role in making Chennai Super Kings the winner three times.
However, in 2020, Suresh Raina’s IPL career was towards the end. Suresh Raina did not participate in the 2020 IPL due to a dispute with the team management. After this, Suresh Raina returned in 2021 but failed miserably with bat.
