Washington: India is the number one priority of the US in terms of getting a US visa. According to US visa officials, visas are being processed 36% quickly across the country after Covid. India is their first priority

If an Indian is trying to get an appointment for a US visa, then efforts are being made to keep his weight vim to a minimum.

Julie Stft, assistant secretary of state for US visa services, said: “We have issued 36% more visas to Indians than before the pandemic.” He also said that from this year, the US is going to start the revalidation of domestic visas.

In fact, till 2004, H-1B visas were renewed in the US, but since 2004, migrant workers working in the US have to return to their country to renew it. Now under this new pilot project, H-1B visas will be renewed in the US. That is, no migrant worker will have to go to his country to renew it.

Earlier, the US Embassy had announced to process record visas for Indians this year. The embassy wants to reduce the backlog in first-time B1 and B2 tourist and business travel visas.

Under this, 2.5 lakh B1/B2 visa appointments have been booked across India. Also, officials from embassies around the world and Washington DC have been called in for interviews on first-time B1/B2 visas.
