Amritsar: Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh said that Gatka centres should be converted into shooting ranges so that youth will be trained with modern weapons.

He called upon the entire nation to unite and said that Policies have been formulated to weaken the Sikhs religiously, politically and economically after the partition of the country, he added on the occasions of Ghallughara Diwas in Sri Harmandir Sahib. He alleged that policies have been formulated to weaken and suppress The Sikhs which still pose a big challenge to the nation.

He also expressed major concern over churches and mosques being built in large numbers in rural Punjab and asked Sikh preachers to advocate vehemently against the propaganda.

Amritsar: Following Punjab government has ordered to reduced security cover of many VIPs in Punjab, Akal Takht acting Jathedar Singh Giani Harpreet Singh today announced the withdrawal of all security provided by the Punjab Police.

There were six Punjab Police personnel and an official vehicle for their security. The Punjab government has today recalled three of these security personnel. Meanwhile, the SGPC has taken over the responsibility of their security.
