Ottawa: From groceries to car loans, inflation continues to haunt Canadians. Now, a 30 percent increase in heating prices in these winters could put more burden on canadians’ pockets.

The cost of heating houses can increase by up to 30 percent. This price is linked to the prices of natural gas and most drivers know how much these prices have increased in 2022. In June, the Ontario Energy Board approved a 20 percent increase in natural gas for companies such as Enbridge. Not only this, this increase in prices will also be due to the restrictions imposed by Russia. Russia is a major producer of natural gas.

Apart from this, a recent forecast has expressed the possibility of a very cold winter season in Canada this time, which may increase prices. The Ontario Energy Board says that the average customer of The Enbridge pays $126 a month for heating.

The Bank of Canada on Wednesday raised its lending rates by three-quarters of a percentage point. In this era of rising debt, borrowing money will become even more expensive with this increase. Many Canadians could be badly hit by this inflation.

Ottawa: Following unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic, about half of all Canadians claim that they are finding it difficult to feed their families due to incessant rise in inflation, a new survey revealed.

The skyrocketing grocery bills and expenses has distributed the budget of families to run household affairs.

According to the the Angus Reid Institute surveyed 1,992 revealed that Canadian adults members of Angus Reid Forum asked government of Canada to do in response to a rate of inflation that is now at a 31-year high ever.

The survey indicates that 49% of respondents claim that it is very difficult for them to feed their families amid rising food prices, which now rose 8.7% year-over-year in March.

The number has gone up from 36% the last time Angus Reid did a similar survey in April, 2019.

The survey revealed that 36% people are in worse financial conditions for over one year ago, as compared to 24 per cent who said that their finances had improved over the last 12 months while another 39% said that there is a very little changes in their financial conditions than last year, the survey said.
