New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the new liquor policy case of Delhi, has summoned Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. The CBI has summoned Sisodia for questioning today.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has recommended a CBI probe into irregularities in the liquor policy.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been summoned by the CBI for questioning in connection with the excise scam case. After receiving the summons, Manish Sisodia tweeted. In his tweet, he wrote that a 14-hour CBI raid was conducted at his house, but nothing came out. He said that nothing was found in his locker searched. Even in his village, he has not found anything.

Due to the possibility of gathering of workers at Manish Sisodia’s residence, heavy deployment of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces has also been made along with the imposition of Section 144. Minister Gopal Rai, MLAs Saurabh Bhardwaj, Durgesh Pathak and Kuldeep Kumar are said to be present at Manish Sisodia’s residence.

AAP equates Sisodia with Bhagat Singh

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday described his government’s fight against the Centre as the “second freedom struggle” and equated Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain with Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

The AAP claimed that Sisodia will be arrested on Monday and alleged that the move was taken ahead of the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls.

The AAP claimed that it has a direct fight with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. The reaction came after the CBI summoned Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia for questioning on Monday in connection with alleged corruption in formulation and implementation of excise policy.
