New Delhi: Tensions in China and Taiwan escalated even after the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

China is constantly resorting to provocations. Taiwan’s defense ministry has said that 68 Chinese fighter jets, 13 warships, crossed the mid-line on Friday. Taiwan has condemned China’s move.

“We condemn the deliberate crossing of the middle line of the Strait by the Chinese army and for such acts at sea and in the air around Taiwan,” Taiwan defence ministry said.

Earlier in the day, China fired several ballistic missiles and deployed fighter jets around Taiwan during military exercises.

China is furious over US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. China had warned Nancy Pelosi not to go to Taiwan, but Pelosi visited Taiwan, bypassing China’s threat.
