Beijing: Floods in southern China have forced thousands of people to flee from their homes due to floods. There are chances of more rain, officials said.

Guangdong’s construction centre has shut down all classes, office work and public transport once in a while due to rising water and the threat of landslides in the area.

Around five lakh people’s homes have been damaged in the neighbouring state of Jiangxi and their lives are in danger. Considerable damage has also been reported in the cities of Shaoguan, Heyuan and Meizhou in Guangdong. Roads have been broken in some parts of the city due to heavy rains. Rescue crews in Zhejiang evacuated people trapped in the water by boats.

Beijing: China has now involved into the ongoing controversy over the controversial remarks of two former BJP leaders on prophet Mohammed and expressed hope that the incident could be dealt with properly. China said it “believes that different civilizations, different religions should respect each other and co-exist on an equal footing”.

Responding to a question by the state-run Chinese media on the protests against the alleged comments made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, “We have looked into the relevant reports. We hope that the incident concerned can be properly dealt with,” he said, adding that it is important to give up arrogance and prejudice and everyone should respect each other’s religions.

On June 5, the BJP had suspended its national spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled its Delhi unit’s media chief Naveen Kumar Jindal for his alleged remarks on Prophet Mohammed. Amid protests from Muslim groups over the remarks, the party had issued a statement aimed at addressing the concerns of minorities, saying it respected all religions.

New Delhi: In order to safeguard local manufacturers from cheap imports, the Central Government (Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance), on the basis of the recommendations of the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Department of Commerce, has imposed anti-dumping duty for five years on five Chinese products recently namely certain flat rolled products of aluminium, sodium hydrosulphite, silicone sealant, hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) component R-32 and hydrofluorocarbon blends, Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Anupriya Patel, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

The minister said that apart from the above five products, the DGTR has recommended imposition of anti-dumping duty on other products originating in or exported from China PR in 2021-22.

Meanwhile, the move was initiated to apprehend if domestic industry has been hurt by a rise in low cost imports.

Ottawa: The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has launched a fresh investigation into the dumping and subsidizing of certain container chassis, originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China, which caused injury to the domestic industry. Anti-dumping and countervailing duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency. The complainant in this case was Max‑Atlas Équipement International Inc., of Saint‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu, Quebec.

The Tribunal will issue the reasons for its finding on March 7, 2022, officials said in a statement.

ਵਾਇਰਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸੀਐੱਨਐੱਨ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਡਬਲਯੂਐੱਚਓ ਦੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਗਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ । ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਲਮੀ ਮਾਹਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਇਸ ‘ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਚੀਨ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਰੀਕ ਅਜੇ ਤੈਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਪਰ ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਨਵਰੀ ‘ਚ 17 ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਮਾਹਰ ਉੱਥੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
