New Delhi: With a major political change in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray has resigned as chief minister. During the political crisis, there was also a tussle between the governor and party leaders. When Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari ordered Uddhav Thackeray to conduct a floor test, the Shiv Sena leader’s stand was hardened.

Though the party challenged the decision in the Supreme Court, it did not get any relief from the Supreme Court over the floor test. On Wednesday, party leader Sanjay Raut was also furious. He had even termed the governor’s decision as unconstitutional.

In fact, the Maharashtra Governor had on Wednesday, June 29, said that the Uddhav government should face the floor test at 11 am on Thursday, after which Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had said that the Constitution was being flouted. The CM himself had also indirectly expressed displeasure over the decision.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is all set to hear the petition filed against the floor test of the Uddhav government in Maharashtra. The hearing will take place at 5 pm. The court has asked senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who filed the petition on behalf of shiv sena, to provide his copy of his petition to all parties, including the court, by 3 pm.

After 39 Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde withdrew from the government, it is believed that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government is in a minority. Now Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has asked Uddhav Thackeray to prove his majority in the Assembly tomorrow i.e. on Thursday, June 30. Shiv Sena chief whip Sunil Prabhu has approached the Supreme Court against it.

Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde’s lawyer Neeraj Kishan Kaul opposed it, saying it was the governor’s prerogative to ask the government for a floor test. Singhvi is misleading the court by raising the issue of disqualification of mlAs. You don’t have to hear the matter today. The copy of the petition has also not yet been received by either side. In such a situation, the court should hear tomorrow.

Mumbai: Amid the ongoing turmoil in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray left the chief minister’s residence Varsha on Wednesday night and moved to his family home Matoshree.

In presence of a huge crowd of party workers, Uddhav along with his son Aditya and family members reached Matoshree, where he was greeted with a shower of flowers.

Shiv Sainiks were shouting slogans in their support. In such a situation, they got down outside Matoshree and greeted the workers. Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde along with party MLAs is camping in Guwahati. Gradually, their fight is becoming heavier, which is likely to make the situation worse.

Three more Shiv Sena MLAs left for Guwahati in Assam this morning to join the rebel camp. Deepak Keskar (MLA from Sawantwadi), Mangesh Kudalkar (Chembur) and Sada Sarvankar (Dadar) took a morning flight from Mumbai to Guwahati.

The Shinde camp now has 36 MLAs (out of the party’s 55 MLAs). In such a situation, Shinde now needs only one more MLA to divide the party without facing disqualification under the anti-defection laws. Five independent MLAs are also with Shinde.
