Bhopal: A 65-year-old with mental illness was found dead hours after he was mercilessly beaten up by for suspecting him to be a “Muslim”, police said here on Saturday.

In a viral video, accused identified as Dinesh Kushwaha, husband of an ex BJP corporator asking repeatedly to victim if his “name is Mohammed” and assaulted him as he struggled to answer.

Meanwhile, following recovering his dead body, Madhya Pradesh found that Bhanwarlal Jain hailed from Sarsi in Ratlam district and had gone missing on May 15 after a visit to a religious event in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, a case under section 302 (murder) had been registered against accused in Neemuch district. He is absconding and raids are on to nab him, police added.

New Delhi: In Rajasthan, communal tension has erupted in Jodhpur between people of two communities on the occasion of Eid. The tension escalated in the morning after EID prayers and there was a fierce stone pelting between the two communities in which at least policemen and four journalists, including the SHO, were injured, police said.

All internet services in Jodhpur have been suspended since around 1 pm while curfew has also imposed under 10 police station jurisdictions.

The situation is still tensed and a heavy police force have been deployed in Jodhpur while Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot appealed for peace and chaired a high-level meeting with top officials.
