Chandigarh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today carried out searches at 35 locations across the country, including Faridkot, Ludhiana and Chandigarh, in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy.

Raids were conducted at various locations of liquor baron Deep Malhotra. His company had bid for and was running several liquor vends in Delhi. The raids are being carried out in connection with an alleged money laundering case.

The Delhi government has now withdrawn this policy. ED officials are conducting searches at 35 locations in Delhi, Punjab and Hyderabad, the sources said.

New Delhi: In the case of Delhi’s liquor policy, the ED is conducting raids in many cities of the country.

According to the information, raids are going on at 40 locations of ED. Of these 40 locations, 20 are in Hyderabad. Nellore, Telangana, Punjab.

Earlier this month, the ED had conducted raids in seven different cities, including Mumbai. The raids were conducted at the houses of some liquor traders and former excise officials. These raids were conducted on those whose names were registered in the CBI FIR.

Manish Sisodia had given a statement on the ED raid that earlier they did CBI raids, nothing was found in it. Now ED raids will be done, nothing will come out of it. The atmosphere of education that is created in the country is being stopped by Arvind Kejriwal, but we will not be able to stop it. Use this CBI, use the ED. New Delhi: Lt Governor V K Saxena has suspended 11 officials, including the then Delhi Excise Commissioner Aarav Gopi Krishna and Deputy Excise Commissioner Anand Kumar Tiwari, for “negligence” used in the implementation of the Excise Policy 2021-22.

Krishna, a 2012-batch IAS officer of AGMUT-cadre, is currently posted in the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

On July 12 this year, the Delhi Excise Commissioner was transferred. Similarly, the 2003 batch DANICS officer is currently posted in the Delhi Excise Department. Sources in the LG’s office said three ad hoc DANICS officers and six officials of the Delhi government’s excise department have also been suspended.

He said the L-G has taken the decision in view of “negligence on the part of the authorities concerned” in the implementation of the excise policy and “irregularities in the finalisation of the tender and benefits for selection of certain vendors after the tender”.

According to sources, the 11 officers against whom suspension and disciplinary action have been ordered include the then Assistant Excise Commissioner Pankaj Bhatnagar, Narinder Singh and Neeraj Gupta.

Saxena’s action was taken on the basis of an inquiry report filed by the Directorate of Vigilance (DoV). Sources claimed that the report contained evidence of irregularities, which were given to the DoV by the finance and excise departments headed by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

The Lt Governor has already recommended a CBI probe into the alleged violation of norms in the implementation of the Excise Policy 2021-22.

New Delhi: Under fire over the new liquor policy, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today announced that the Delhi government has withdrawn its new excise policy and directed to reopen government liquor vends.

The decision to roll back the new excise policy came a few days after after L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena had recommended a CBI probe into the Delhi excise policy 2021-22 and also blamed Sisodia citing gross irregularities in the policy.
