London: Many things have been changed in the England team after Brendam McCullum became England’s coach.

England have not only changed the way they play, but now the players are again taking the Test format more seriously. England player Moeen Ali has reiterated his desire to play Test cricket under the leadership of new coach Brendon McCullum.

Moeen Ali has said that he is excited to be a part of the longest format of the game once again. Moeen announced his retirement from Test cricket at the end of last year.

With McCullum taking over the reins of the England Test team and establishing contacts with Moeen, the 34-year-old all-rounder is planning to join the team.

“When Atherton asked him if he really thought he wanted to be a part of the Test team again, Moeen replied, “Absolutely yes. When McCullum took over, I knew it would be so.”

London: Anya Shrubsole, England’s two-time Women’s World Cup winner, has announced retirement from her glittering 14-year-old long career in the cricket.

Shrubsole, 30, had bagged 9 wickets at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, during England’s run to the final and her best performance came in the final match against Australia as she registered 3/46.

Announcing her decision, Shrubsole said in a statement, “I feel immensely privileged to have been able to represent my country for the past 14 years. To have been involved in women’s cricket at a time of such growth has been an honour but it has become clear to me that it is moving forward faster than I can keep up with, so it is time for me to step away.”

London: England cricket team’s star player Joe Root has announced to step down as test cricketer here on Friday.

Root led team recently lost Test series 1-0 against the West Indies, said in a statement: “After returning from the Caribbean tour and having time to reflect, I have decided to step down as England Men’s Test Captain.”

“I am immensely proud to have captained my country and will look back on the past five years with enormous pride. It has been an honour to have done the job and to have been a custodian of what is the pinnacle of English cricket.” said Joe Root in a statement.

England: All-rounder of England cricket team Moeen Ali on Monday announced his retirement from Test cricket to prolong his career in the white-ball formats.

“I’m 34 now and I want to play for as long as I can and I just want to enjoy my cricket. Test cricket is amazing, when you’re having a good day it’s better than any other format by far, it’s more rewarding and you feel like you’ve really earnt it,” he said while sharing the news with fans and adding that he would miss walking out there with lads, playing against best in the world.

Ali, a left-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner, played county cricket for Warwickshire before moving to Worcestershire after the 2006 season. Ali has represented England in all formats of the game. He won Warwickshire’s NBC Denis Compton Award in both 2004 and 2005 and Worcestershire’s NBC Denis Compton Award in 2009. His off spin is marked by a strongly spun off break and a well-concealed arm ball. He was named as one of five Cricketers of the Year in the 2015 Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack. Moeen was part of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
