New Delhi: Good news for Indian football fans. India has got a big relief from the world football governing body FIFA as it has lifted the ban imposed on the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

FIFA said in a statement that the Council has decided to lift the suspension of the AIFF on August 25 with immediate effect. Now the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup can be held in India from October 11 to 30 as planned.

According to FIFA, it was decided after FIFA received confirmation that the Committee of Administrators (CoA) set up to assume the powers of the AIFF Executive Committee has been abolished and that the AIFF administration now has full control over the day-to-day affairs of the AIFF.

FIFA and the AFC will continue to monitor the situation, the statement said. At the same time, he will help the AIFF in conducting elections on time.
