Eluru: At least six persons died and 12 sustained burn injuries after a fire accident in a chemical factory in Akkireddygudem in the district on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police, Eluru said that injured were admitted to government hospital in Vijayawada.

Preliminary investigation indicates that fire broke out on Wednesday late night and investigation is underway to ascertain the extract reason.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy expressed shock and announced Rs 25 lakh compensation to next kin of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh each to the critically injured.

New Delhi: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted two successful flight tests of the Indian Army version of Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) at Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha today.

The flight tests were carried out as part of the live firing trials against high-speed aerial targets. The missiles intercepted the aerial targets and destroyed them completely, registering direct hits at both the ranges.

The first launch was to intercept a medium altitude long range target and second launch was for proving the capability of a low altitude short range target.This MRSAM version is a Surface-to-Air Missile developed jointly by DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Israel for use by the Indian Army. The MRSAM Army weapon system comprises multi-function radar, mobile launcher system and other vehicles. The flight tests were carried out with the weapon system in deliverable configuration. The performance of the weapon system was validated through the flight data captured by range instruments like radars, electro-optical tracking systems and telemetry deployed by ITR, Chandipur. The flight tests were carried out in the presence of senior officials from DRDO and Indian Army.

ਬਟਾਲਾ : ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ਚੋਕ ਸਿੱਥਤ ਇਕ ਬੈਟਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਗ ਗਈ। ਅੱਗ ਲਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਹੈ। ਲਲਿਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਉਰਫ਼ ਰੋਮੀ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਜੋਕਿ ਬੈਟਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ਚੋਕ ਨੇੜੇ ਬੈਟਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਲਗ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਸਿੱਥਤ ਫ਼ਾਈਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਗੇਡ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਜਦੋ ਜਹਿਦ ਬਾਅਦ ਫ਼ਾਇਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਗੇਡ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ। ਇੱਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਚ ਰੋਮੀ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ  ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਧੁਆਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਟਰ ਖੋਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਅੱਗ ਲਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਸਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਮੋਕੇ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ।

ਬਟਾਲਾ ਸਿੱਥਤ ਫ਼ਾਈਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਗੇਡ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।  ਜਿਸਤੇ ਲਗਪਗ ਪੋਨੇ ਦੋ ਘੰਟੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਫ਼ਾਈਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਗੇਡ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾਉਣ ਚ ਜੁੱਟ ਗਈ। ਨਗਰ ਕੋਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਮੋਕੇ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿਯੌਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਜਦੋ ਜਹਿਦ ਬਾਅਦ ਅੱਗ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਅੱਗ ਦੋਰਾਣ ਕਈ ਬੈਟਰੇ ਧਮਾਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਡ ਗਏ। ਅਤੇ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਲਗਪਗ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਲਕੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਲਲਿਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਉਰਫ਼ ਰੋਮੀ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਾਦੀਆਂ ਚ ਦਮਕਲ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਹਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਟੀਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬਿਊਰੋ-ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਰੇਲ ਕੋਚ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ (ਆਰਸੀਐਫ) ਦੀਆਂ ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਦੁਪਹਿਰੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ। ਰੇਲ ਕੋਚ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਪਰਵਾਸੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਢੇ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਗ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਡੇਢ ਵਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਲੱਗੀ। ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਿਆ ਪਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਿਲੰਡਰ ਫਟਣਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਗਰੀਬ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਇਕਦਮ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਵਾਸੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਨੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਰ ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਸੀ, ਰੋਟੀ, ਟੁੱਕ, ਲੀੜਾ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਸਵਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੱਗ ਐਨੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਫੈਲੀ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਕੱਢਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ.
ਆਰਸੀਐਫ ਦੇ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾਊ ਅਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਤਾਂ ਬੁਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਪਰ ਝੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਨਾ ਬਚਾ ਸਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾਊ ਅਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਅਮਰ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੱਜ ਤੁਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਅੱਗ ਨਾ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਸੀ।
