Chandigarh: Urging Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) to allow the state government to install the advanced broadcast/communication technologies at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said that the Punjab government can provide all possible help in disseminating the ‘Sarb Sanji Gurbani’ across the globe with an aim to spread the universal message of ‘Sarbat da Bhala’ (welfare of all).

This endeavour would go a long way in offering an opportunity to the Sangat to listen the blissful Gurbani besides having glimpse (darshan didar) of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. He said, “We are ready to discharge any duty assigned by the SGPC in this behalf”.

In his video message, Bhagwant Mann said it is the need of the hour to propagate the message of Gurbani in every nook and corner of the world and thus appealed the SGPC to relay Gurbani Kirtan from Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib on various communication platforms including Satellite TV, Radio, FM, social media and mobile apps instead of limiting its reach to a single medium.

“We will provide the latest infrastructure/technology in this regard at Sri Darbar Sahib including latest cameras and broadcasting equipments to relay the Gurbani Kirtan through other digital platforms like YouTube, mobile apps, religious channels or any other channel which intend to telecast the same instead of relaying it only from one medium so as to enhance its reach across the world”, said the Chief Minister while adding that Punjab Government is ready to bear the expenditure for the same.

Chandigarh: The SGPC has started installing new gold sheets after replacing original, which were installed during Maharaja Ranjit Singh era on the inner walls at Golden Temple, Amritsar.

The sewa is being done by a UK-based Sikh organisation after the gold sheets lost their sheen and developed cracks due to passage of enormous time.

It is pertinent to mention here that it would be for the very first time time that the inner gold plating will be repaired, as the outer gold plates had been replaced between 1995 and 1999.

According to the information, l Maharaja Ranjit Singh had got the gold plating done between 1803 and 1830.

SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the repair work shall be done with utmost care to ensure that the originality does not gets tinkered.

Amritsar: Three days after historic win in Punjab Assembly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor along with Chief minister designate Bhagwant Mann and other senior leaders paid obeisance at Golden Temple here on Sunday.

They also carried out a road show in Amritsar after winning 92 seats in the state.

Along with them, Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Amritsar Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu and recently elected MLAs also took part in the road show.
