Buenos Aires: Gunmen opened fire at a supermarket belonging to the family of Argentine footballer Lionel Messi and threatened him in a text message. No one was injured in the attack.

It was not clear why the attackers targeted the Unico supermarket in Rosario, the country’s third-largest city. The supermarket is owned by the family of his wife Antonella Roccuzzo, we are waiting for you,” the attackers said in the message they left behind.

The city’s mayor, Pablo Javkin, went to the supermarket and lashed out at authorities. Messi, one of the world’s greatest players, has not commented on the matter.
