New Delhi: The World Health Organization (WHO) has asked all countries to recognize the importance of spending on primary health care infrastructure.

“There is no economic security without health security. Head of the WHO’s South-East Asian Region. Poonam Khetrapal Singh said that only a strong health infrastructure can give a befitting response to health emergencies, and health is essential for economic security.”

He said that during the Covid pandemic, everyone has come to know about this and it is important for everyone to be healthy and everyone has access to health facilities, preparedness to deal with epidemics. Speaking at the World Health Summit in Berlin, he said investment in basic health infrastructure is essential to achieve all these objectives.

Since 2014, health experts in Southeast Asia have been improved under a number of programmes.

The number of doctors, nurses and other health workers has increased here. This has also helped in dealing with Covid.

New Delhi: A woman from Nigeria has been found infected with Monkeypox in Delhi. With this, there have been a total of nine cases of monkeypox in the capital. The total number of infected in India has increased to 14. The woman infected with monkeypox virus is 30 years old.

According to the information, the woman was admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP) Hospital in Delhi and her test report came today.

Another suspected patient of Nigerian origin was also admitted to a government hospital on Sunday. Their test report is awaited. The eighth case of monkeypox was found in Delhi on Friday. The managing director of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) had on Friday confirmed the 8th case of monkeypox in Delhi.

He had said that a woman was admitted two days ago, her report came on Friday in which she was found infected. This woman is also from Nigeria. Of the monkeypox cases found in Delhi so far, one was An Indian and the rest are of African origin. The new monkeypox patient has no recent travel history. The first case of monkeypox was reported in Delhi on July 24.

After the new cases found in Delhi on Monday, there are now 14 cases of monkeypox in India.

Of these, nine cases have been reported from Delhi and five from Kerala. Out of the total cases in Delhi, five patients have been cured. A patient from Kerala died of monkeypox. The first case of monkeypox in the country was found in Kerala.

Mumbai: Amid rising cases of Lumpy skin infections in the cattle, the Mumbai Police has issued orders banning the movement of cattle in the city to prevent the spread of lung skin disease.

These orders issued by the police have come into effect from September 14 and will remain in force till October 13.

Officials said that anyone violating the order can be fined and punished.

New Delhi: Doctors have asked people living in nearby areas to take care of their health as two towers of supertech, about 100 metres high, were demolished. Doctors have also asked people suffering from respiratory ailments to stay away from the area for a few days if possible. While the towers were dropped, there was a plume of dust in the sky, due to which people may have to face trouble.

Dr Jugal Kishore of Safdarjung Hospital said those suffering from respiratory ailments should stay away from the affected area for at least 48 hours. He has also advised people in nearby areas not to exercise for a few days.

Dr Yudhvir Singh, assistant professor at AIIMS, said people should use N-95 masks as a precautionary measure and keep medicines with them. Dr Dipankar Saha, former head of the Central Pollution Control Board’s air lab, said noida authorities should monitor the level of air pollution till the debris is cleared.

Chandigarh: Punjab Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Tuesday, informed that ‘Manjal Khurd’, the third area in district Patiala, has been notified as a containment zone for the prevention of ‘African Swine Fever’ (ASF).

He said that the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) -National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal has confirmed ASF in swine samples from this area. He directed the officials of the department to comply with the provisions of “The Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009” for effectively preventing, controlling, eradicating the scheduled disease-ASF. The Cabinet Minister further said that up to a kilometre, from the village declared the epicenter, is considered as “infected zones” while up to 10 KM area is classified “surveillance zone.”

He said that no live/dead pig (including feral or wild pigs), unprocessed pig meat, feed or any material/goods from the piggery farms or backyard piggery shall be taken out of or brought into the infected zone and no person shall bring or attempt to bring into the market any pig or pig products which is known to be infected with the scheduled disease.

Notably, the whole state of Punjab has already been declared as “Controlled Area” after ASF found in two areas namely ‘Bilaspur’ and ‘Sanauri Adda’ of district Patiala and the inter-state movement of any pig or its belongings has been strictly banned.
