New Delhi: With a view to provide benefits of Indian traditional Ayurveda System of medicine to a wider clientele, Ministry of Defence has decided to operationalise Ayurveda Centres at 37 Cantonment Hospitals across the country from May 01, 2022.

The decision was taken at a recent high level meeting held between the Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar and the Secretary Ministry of AYUSH, Vaidya Rakesh Kotecha. The move will make available well-established and time-tested therapies of Ayurveda to the residents of Cantonments including Armed Forces personnel, their families and civilians availing health services from these hospitals.

To support this initiative, Ministry of AYUSH is providing skilled AYUSH Doctors and Pharmacists to these 37 Cantonment Hospitals. It has also been decided that officials of Directorate General of Defence Estates (DGDE), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of AYUSH would work in close collaboration to make these 37 Ayurveda Centres functional.

Chandigarh: In a bid to improve the health infrastructure and provide top-notch facilities to people in government hospital, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has issued fresh orders asking all government doctors to certify that they do not have any private practice.

The move aims at bolstering the quality treatment in hospitals as promised by the AAP government during poll campaigns.

At present, many government doctors run private clinics after working hours, which impacts thief efficiency and it is also against service rules, said a senior administration official.

According to the new orders, AAP asked civil surgeons and senior medical officers (SMO) in their respective districts to ensure all doctors in their jurisdiction did not have a private practice. If a doctor found indulging in private practice, along with the concerned doctor action will also be initiated against SMO, officials said.

ਟੀਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬਿਊਰੋ-ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਵਾਇਰਸ ਦੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਸੰਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਵੇਚਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਸੂਬਾ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਰਚਾ ਕੱਟਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜੋ ਵਾਧੂ ਅਮਾਉਂਟ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਗੌਰਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 48 ਲੱਖ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਦੀ ਡੋਜ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਗੇ।
