New Delhi: About 57 per cent of the Indian middle class (household income of Rs 3-10 lakh) population is willing to study abroad, the Leap-IpsosStrategy3 Study Abroad Outlook Report said.

According to the survey, 83 per cent respondents believe that foreign degrees will give them an edge over their peers, while 62 per cent of them expressed confidence in taking education loans.

The report also explains how international education is becoming popular among the middle-class segment of the Indian population. For most of the respondents, ‘better pay’ was one of the top three factors.

“The Indian foreign education market is expected to grow manifold due to the growing aspirations of the student class and by 2025 more than 20 lakh Indian students will exit spending more than $100 billion on their international education.

Vaibhav Singh, co-founder of LEAP, said, “This is a huge opportunity and the region will see a huge increase in the demand for the latest products and services. “
