New Delhi: Stranded students in Ukraine alleged that they are facing racial abuse from Ukrainian security personnel citing that India did not extend its support amid ongoing crisis with Russia.

Many videos went viral on social media, being shared by Indian students from Ukraine, students being kicked, beaten up, dragged by security personnel and some even had their phones snatched from them.

Students said that situation is catastrophic for them as around 700 students are still stuck in hostel basements but Indian Embassy has not provided them any help to rescue.

Students said that Indian authorities asked them to reach borders via train or buses but no help was extended.

New Delhi: Indian Embassy in Kyiv on Sunday issued a fresh advisory to Indian students and asked them to immediately leave Ukraine for temporarily amid high level tensions there.

“In view of continued high levels of tensions and uncertainties with respect to the situation in Ukraine, all Indian nationals whose stay is not deemed essential and all Indian students, are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily. Available commercial flights and charter flights may be availed for travel, for orderly and timely departure,” the advisory read.

It further reads that Indian students are advised to get in touch with respective student contractors for updates on charter flights, and also continue to follow Embassy Facebook, website and Twitter for any update.

New Delhi: Amidst tensions between Russia and Ukraine, Indian authorities issued advisory to its citizens, especially students, to immediately leave Ukraine temporarily and avoid non-essential travel to and within the country.

Last month, India said that there are around 20, 000 Indian students in Ukraine from 18,000 estimated in 2020 by the Indian Embassy in Kyiv.

ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ- ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਵਾਇਰਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਐਂਟਰੀ ਬੈਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ‘ਚ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੰਤਰੇ ਦਾ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਤਰੇ ਦੇ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੇਬਰ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸੰਤਰੇ ਤੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ‘ਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਗਾ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੁਣ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ‘ਚ ਲੇਬਰ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੈ।

ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ‘ਚ ਸੰਤਰੇ ਦੀ ਖੇਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਕ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੰਤਰੇ ਤੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਕੁਝ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਪੇ ਟੂਰਿਸਟ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ‘ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਲੇਬਰ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੰਤਰੇ ਤੋੜਨ ਲਈ ਲੇਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੇਬਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਅ ਦੁੱਗਣੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜਿਸ ਡੱਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਰੇ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਭਰਨ ਲਈ 25 ਡਾਲਰ ਯਾਨੀ ਕਰੀਬ 1400 ਰੁਪਏ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸੇ ਡੱਬੇ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 45 ਡਾਲਰ ਯਾਨੀ ਕਰੀਬ 2520 ਰੁਪਏ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੰਤਰਾ ਉਤਪਾਦਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ‘ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਨੇਪਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਲੇਬਰ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰੇਟ ਵੀ ਕਾਫੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ।
