London: As the largest group of foreign students studying in the UK, Indian students have overtaken Chinese students for the first time. This has been revealed in the official immigration data of Britain released today.

According to the data, this has been possible with a 273 percent increase in the number of visas given to Indian students in the last few years.

Data from the UK Home Office, compiled by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), shows that Indians top the list of visa recipients in the category of skilled workers. Accordingly, 56,042 Indians were granted visas in this category last year.

Vancouver: Failing to communicate in English in front of Canadian authorities despite having good English proficiency test IELTS scores, the government has started the deportation of such students.

On the third day today, two people, including a student, have been sent back after being kept in transit custody.

Although the department concerned has not officially shared the information, airport sources said that the sequence started the day after the two students, who got six and a half bands, did not even understand the simple english words ‘name, place, subject’ etc.

According to sources, visas of two of the students, who came from Delhi and Mumbai on the first day, have been cancelled for the third day today due to the strictness after sending back two of them.

The case gained momentum when some Gujarati students were caught trying to enter the US illegally from Canada even they failed to communicate before the judge.

Ottawa: In a tragic mishap, five Indian students killed near Toronto on Saturday, March 13.

India’s High Commissioner to Canada Ajay Bisaria shared this news on his Twitter handle today and said, “Heart-breaking tragedy in Canada: 5 Indians students passed away in an auto accident near Toronto on Saturday. Two others in hospital. Deepest condolences to the families of the victims. @IndiainToronto team in touch with friends of the victims for assistance.”

According to the information, Harpreet Singh, Jaspinder Singh, Karanpal Singh, Mohit Chouhan and Pawan Kumar were pronounced dead at the scene of Saturday’s crash.

Vancouver – ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਿਧੀਆਂ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਗਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਰੋਕ ਜੁਲਾਈ 21 ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਤੀਸਰੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ‘ਚ ਐਂਟਰੀ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ। ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ’ਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਰਬੀਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ 205 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਰਬੀਆ ‘ਚ ਫੱਸ ਗਏ। ਦਰਅਸਲ ਸਰਬੀਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਨਿਯਮ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਸਰਬੀਆ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਟੈਸਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬੀਆ ’ਚ 7 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੁਆਰੰਨਟੀਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ 7 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਟੈਸਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ 205 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਜੋ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਸਰਬੀਆ ’ਚ ਫੱਸ ਗਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦੂਤਾਵਾਸ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ‘ਚ ਆਇਆ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਵਿੱਟਰ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅੰਬੈਸੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬੇਲਗ੍ਰੇਡ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ‘ਤੇ ਫਸੇ 205 ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ 120 ਯਾਤਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਲੂਫਥਾਂਸਾ ਏਅਰ ਲਾਈਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਹੋਰ ਏਅਰਲਾਈਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅੱਜ ਜਾਂ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਉਡਾਣ ਭਰਨਗੇ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦੂਤਾਵਾਸ ਏਅਰਪੋਰਟ ਅਥਾਰਟੀਆਂ / ਏਅਰਲਾਈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ.
