Tehran: Protests against the hijab in Iran are intensifying. The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody has already triggered massive protests and now the news of the death of 20-year-old Hadith Najafi, who was leading the demonstrations, is coming out. Many videos of her death are going viral on social media.

According to the information, on Saturday, Hadith Najafi was protesting with many women in the city of Karaj, located some distance away from Tehran. During this time, the police shot him 6 times. Earlier on September 16, Mahsa Amini died in police custody in Iran. After this, protests started against hijab and strict restrictions in the country.

Of these, 50 people, including 4 women, have died so far. In many places, these protests have taken a violent turn. The Kurdish region has the highest number of protests. Meanwhile, Iran’s women protesters cut their hair and burnt the hijab. Women are opposing the stringent rule of staying in curtains. Iran’s radical government shut down the internet a few days ago, due to which very little information is coming out from there.

The mandatory requirement for women to wear the hijab in Iran came into force after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Before that, Under Shah Pahlavi’s rule, Iran was very independent in terms of women’s clothing. During that time, girls used to celebrate picnics on the streets of Tehran.
