New Delhi: Journalist Rana Ayyub was stopped by Enforcement Directorate (ED) from flying to London on Tuesday.

She is an accused in an alleged money laundering case being investigated by Ead. She was stopped to not board the flight from Mumbai citing an ongoing investigation of foreign funding rules by Ayyub while collecting donations for COVID-19 relief.

“I was stopped today at the Indian immigration while I was about to board my flight to London to deliver my speech on the intimidation of journalists with @ICFJ,” she tweeted.

She further said that I was to travel to Italy right after to deliver the keynote address at the @journalismfest on the Indian democracyAll these events with @julieposetti @DoughtyStIntl @journalismfest have been planned and publicised all over my social media for weeks. Yet, curiously the Enforcement directorate summon arrived in my mail much after I was stopped at the immigration. What do you fear ?.

Chandigarh: Making serious remarks on the “character” of former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar levelled allegations of #MeToo movement against Channi.

During an interview with a news channel, Jakhar said that he has never accepted Channi as his leader as he knew him very well.

“Even after Metoo controversy with an IAS officer, Channi did the same act with a female journalist,” former Punjab chief Jakhar said adding that this is a very serious allegation and he is saying this with full responsibility.

The video clip of the interview has now gone viral on the social media. Channi, however, yet not reacted to the allegations.

Meanwhile, the #MeToo movement is a social movement against sexual abuse and sexual harassment where people publicize allegations of sex crimes.

Earlier, Jakhar also levelled allegations of Corruption against Channi and also launched fierce attack on Congress Rajya Sabha member Ambika Soni.

He blamed the Congress’ defeat in Punjab on Channi and Soni, who supported Channi as CM face.
