Chandigarh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Punjab government today once again reached the local main chowk to probe the Kotkapura firing incident, where the Punjab Police had opened fire on the protesting sangat on October 14, 2015. After the incident, a police officer had opened fire on Sikh activists in behbal Kalan village, in which a large number of people were injured and two Sikh youths Krishan Bhagwan Singh and Gurjit Singh Bittu Sarawan were killed due to bullet injuries.

Meanwhile, the police did not allow the media to come close to the team. Meanwhile, when the media asked the police officer to get information about today’s investigation, they refused to share any information.

According to the information received, Sukhraj Singh Niami, son of deceased youth Krishan Bhagwan Singh, has been sitting on a dharna under the Behbal Insaaf Morcha for the last eleven months.

The morcha has chalked out a programme to announce a state-wide rally on October 14 to launch a fierce struggle. Sikh activist Gurinder Singh Kotkapura slammed the government over the issue and said that the governments were playing a cruel joke on the Sikhs. An inquiry has been conducted, but the Sikhs are not getting justice.
