Maharashtra: A day after Uddhav Thackeray resigned as the chief minister of Maharashtra after ending of Maha Vikas Aghadi government rule, BJP senior leader Devendra Fadnavis announced that Eknath Shinde will be the next chief minister of the state.

“I wouldn’t be part of the government and BJP will extend its support to Shinde,” Fadnavis said while addressing a press conference here.

Shinde will sworn as CM of Maharashtra at 7:30pm, BJP officials said.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is all set to hear the petition filed against the floor test of the Uddhav government in Maharashtra. The hearing will take place at 5 pm. The court has asked senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who filed the petition on behalf of shiv sena, to provide his copy of his petition to all parties, including the court, by 3 pm.

After 39 Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde withdrew from the government, it is believed that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government is in a minority. New Delhi: The Supreme Court has sent notices to all parties on the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs, led by minister Eknath Shinde faction’s plea.

A reply to the notice has been sought within five days. The next hearing on the case will be on July 11.

The Supreme Court has issued notices to the deputy speaker, Ajay Chaudhary, Sunil Prabhu and the central government on a petition filed by rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde.

A notice has also been issued to the Assembly Secretary. He has been asked to respond to the notice within five days.
