Oklahoma: A 12-year-old girl from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who stabbed her nine-year-old brother to death, has been taken into custody, police said.

According to a news release issued by the Tulsa police, the girl has been kept in the Tulsa Juvenile Detention Facility. On Thursday night, the police were called after being informed about the incident of stabbing.

By the time the police officials reached the spot, paramedics and firefighters had already arrived before them and they were giving CPR to the 9-year-old boy.

In a release, police said the parents of the children were sleeping on the upper floor when the 12-year-old woke them up and told them that she had stabbed her nine-year-old brother.

The boy was taken to a hospital and his operation was also started, but he succumbed to his injuries at 2:30 am. The suspect, 12, was taken into custody and lodged at the Family Center for Juvenile Justice. The identity of either of the two children has not been disclosed by the police officials.

The child crisis unit of police department is investigating the stabbing incident.
